Hi! I’m Sarah! I am a kindergarten, turned first grade, turned instructional coach, turned administration, turned education professor….teacher gal! 😉
I am first and foremost an Early Childhood Educator. I love teaching the youngest students. I earned my bachelors in Early Childhood from Arizona State University. I then went on to teach kindergarten (half day…and one year I had 32 in each class!!) During that time I also earned a Reading Specialist in Elementary Education masters.
After my college sweetheart *finally* proposed to me, I moved to the Chicago area and began teaching first grade. During those ten years, I discovered that I loved “teaching teachers.” I presented at many conferences and eventually went on to earn another masters degree, this time in School Leadership.
This led to an instructional coach / administration job that I adored. I could work with students…but also with teachers. It was the dream. Then Covid happened…
Fast forward through a few years as an “accidental” stay at home mom, and I am now an education professor. It is the perfect job for me as someone who needs to be home before and after school, but also very much wants to be apart of education. I teach two classes once a week and supervise clinical graduate elementary education students and early childhood student teachers. I LOVE my job.
Speaking of loving my job…I love that I get to share what I did in my classroom through this blog and Teachers pay Teachers. While I may not be adding as much now, I still go through my resources and advice on a regular basis and make sure I am supporting my teacher friends from around the world. Thank you for stopping by.
