Setting up expectations on our 1:1 iPads is necessary. It helps me to ensure that all 19 of them are kept safe all year. Last year the only "injury" we had on one was a headphone jack got stuck. Otherwise they were great! To help with this, I have my students help me set up the expectations. We then took pictures of ourselves to explain the expectations and put the posters on our iPad cart. How We Celebrate Birthdays!
We love celebrating birthdays in our classroom! We have decided this year to not have students bring in any type of food treat. We are just starting our history unit where we are ... Read More about Homework on the iPad

We have several sheets of codes, but used a new Thanksgiving sheet that I made yesterday. The class loved it! To respond to our reading, I told the ... Read More about QR Read Alouds Listening Center
The Book With No Pictures
We were thrilled to get our hands on BJ Novak's new book, The Book With No Pictures. Anticipating that my students would love it, I set my iPad up to record me reading the book. I am so glad I did, because they thought it was hysterical! I made a QR code out of the link so that my students could listen to me reading the book during Daily Five. I have also posted it below for your enjoyment! ... Read More about The Book With No Pictures
