Scanning QR codes with our iPads using the app QR Reader by Tap Media is a very simple way we use our 1:1 iPads. One of our favorite QR codes to scan are ones that lead to people reading books aloud via a safe YouTube watching website, safeshare.tv.
We have several sheets of codes, but used a new Thanksgiving sheet that I made yesterday. The class loved it! To respond to our reading, I told the students to take a screen shot of a book they read and then write a KidBlog post about it. The students were able to respond to their reading to an audience much larger than just me by posting to their blog. Plus, they did all of this on their iPads within our 30 minute readers workshop time. They even surprised me by responding to each others posts with comments. They were so thoughtful and too cute.
Teachers – grab your own QR sheet but clicking on the link to my TPT store to the right. Print one off for your class to share, or print a class set for everyone to have their own and send home!
