Thanks for stopping by my blog in our blog hop! I am *almost* ready to launch a new blog design – so be sure to check back in with me!
Can you believe that we have made it all the way to Teacher Appreciation Week? I can’t believe how fast the year has flown by! I am hoping to give you a glimpse of an easy way to use QR codes in your classroom as my teacher appreciation freebie.
I have been using iPads in my classroom for almost five years now. A simple way to incorporate them meaningfully is to use QR codes. The QR codes I am sharing with you today link to books being read aloud. I make these sheets for various themes throughout the school year. I find books read aloud online and then create the QR code using safeshare.tv. This means that when your students scan the codes, they are taken to the video surrounded by a grey screen with no ads or links to other videos! So much better than YouTube!
To use the QR codes you will need a QR app. My favorite is QR Reader by TapMedia ltd. Any will work though!
Just have your students scan the codes and watch the books on them! There are several activities you could complete following watching the codes. Some include:
*Have your students write a KidBlog post about the book they read. Check out how I have done that here.
*Students can watch a book on their own and then discuss with the class or small group.
*Check comprehension by having your students fill out a graphic organizer after listening.
*Use even more tech and have your students fill out a Google Form on their favorite book on the sheet, opinions of a book or answer comprehension questions.
*Or, just have your students enjoy their time listening during Daily Five or any other time in the day!
To get the freebie, click the picture below! You will be taken to my Teachers pay Teachers store. While you are there, check out more of my QR codes!
